Web agency Berger Schmidt developed the multi-site platform in collaboration with B2B agency G+R and the staff from the Swiss headquarters of S&P as well as in coordination with the managers of marketing and IT at Simpson Strong-Tie. The platform is based on the Open-Source content management system Drupal.

S&P Clever Reinforcement Company AG

S&P develops, produces and sells products for the reinforcement of structures and for the strengthening of buildings. The company has it's headquarters in Switzerland, a branch in western Switzerland and companies in Austria, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Denmark and Sweden.

S&P is part of the Simpson Manufacturig Company Inc. headquartered in Pleasanton, California. It's subsidiary Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is a leading manufacturer of wood construction products.

Multi site, multi domain, multi language

The multi-site-platform, developed by Berger Schmidt, provides a multilingual content management system to the companies spread all over Europe, and enables S&P to migrate the now heterogeneous websites to the new platform.

Thus the construction of the websites becomes homogeneous and user-friendly, whereat the country specific content (products, projects, news etc.) is preserved - just like the domains, under which the websites run. Of course do all the companies profit from global features and updates on the new platform.

In the project there were three special challenges: (1) the domain access management, (2) the multi language capabilities, and (3) the synchronisation of content between sites. Therefor Berger Schmidt developed appropriate concepts and programmed custom Drupal modules for S&P.
